Biography
Jun is interested in understanding the relationship between chromosome structure and gene expression. During his PhD in Ercan Lab, Jun used sequencing-based methods to study the role of two interphase SMC complexes, condensin DC and cohesin, in shaping the 3D structure of chromosomes in C. elegans.
In 2023, Jun joined the Liu Lab to focus on the function of the chromosome structure by combining genomics and imaging approaches. He is mainly interested in how chromosome structure can facilitate transcriptional co-bursting and fine-tuning of multiple genes.
