Our lab is embedded in Janelia’s Mechanistic Cognitive Neuroscience community, where collaborations bridge genetics, imaging, computation, and theory.

We work closely with Janelia groups advancing Danionella genetics and transgenesis (Satou Lab), spatial navigation and the internal compass (Jayaraman Lab), next-generation VR technology for social cognition (Otopalik Lab, paralleling our studies in the fly), and light-microscopy–based connectomic imaging with synaptic resolution (Tavakoli Lab).

Together with Janelia teams in machine learning, optical engineering, and theoretical modeling, these collaborations help us connect social behavior, individuality, and neural computation across scales.

Join Us, We Are Hiring Postdocs and PhD Students

We value diverse perspectives and hands-on curiosity as catalysts for discovery.
If you bring strong experimental or quantitative skills and are eager to explore how neural circuits generate flexibility, individuality, and social behavior using our novel methodological suite, we’d love to hear from you.

We are also hiring a Scientific Computing Associate to develop next-generation virtual reality platforms for social neuroscience.
