Biography

I did my undergraduate at Taishan College, Shandong University in China, where I learned basic science broadly. After that, I worked with Yifeng Zhang at the Institute of Neuroscience for a year. That was the first time I realized the elegance and complexity of visual processing.

I earned a master’s degree in psychology, at Johns Hopkins, under the mentorship of Shreesh Mysore, and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, at Penn State, under the mentorship of Nanyin Zhang.

My current project is about visual sequence prediction. How do different cells respond to mismatch? What are the advantages of functioning like this? How does prediction affect visual input perception?
