Biography

Sarah, who grew up in England and Europe, has had a broad and internationally varied life.  As a teenager, Sarah had a successful career with West Deutscher Rundfunk in Cologne, Germany, recording language programs for students learning English.  For some time she considered acting and was asked to audition in London for the Central School of Speech and Drama but instead and whilst at school in Edinburgh, Scotland, was recruited by Her Majesty's British Government.

In the 1980's she moved to the United States and worked for many years for the Defence Staff and Press Office at the British Embassy in Washington, DC, arranging Royal and prime ministerial visits.  For a time, Sarah lived on the island of Okinawa, Japan and worked for the United States Government.  Returning to North America in 1994, Sarah was employed in the legal field as a caseworker for a Southern California District Attorney's office.

In 2006, Sarah became a Lab Coordinator at Janelia and in 2016, the Executive Assistant to Dr. Rubin, and then in 2020, Dr. Vale. Because of her knowledge of Janelia and ability to adapt to new situations, Sarah particularly enjoys supporting operations and the scientific staff, where something new comes up almost every day.
