Biography

I started my scientific career in the lab, but since May 2008 have been overseeing Janelia's Scientific Conference and Seminar Programs.  My team runs 25+ conferences, workshops and training courses each year, and hosts a variety of seminar series with both internal and external speakers.

Prior to joining HHMI, I completed a postdoc in the Mouse Cancer Genetics Program at the National Cancer Institute (NIH) in Frederick, MD studying markers of tumor angiogenesis in mouse models for cancer diagnostics and drug targeting. I have a PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA and  a bachelor’s in Biology from the University of Virginia, in beautiful Charlottesville!

One of the best parts of my job is having the opportunity to interact with some of the world's top scientific thought leaders. Janelia's scientific programs create an opportunity for new collaborations and inspire creative ideas and novel approaches. We place special emphasis on training researchers at at all career stages on the unique tools and technologies developed at Janelia, and strive to cultivate our next generation of scientists.
