Biography
In 2002 Jody Clements received a B.Sc in Biomedical Sciences from Sheffield Hallam University and promptly realized that life in a lab was not for him. Leveraging his passion and knowledge for both web development and science he went to work for the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, Hinxton (UK). Whilst there he spent his time designing and developing a number of internal and external web applications and teaching scientists about standards compliant and secure web development practices. He was also partly responsible for maintaining and designing the hardware infrastructure underlying the institutes web presence. More recently Jody worked at the National Center for Biotechnology Information where he developed sites and web applications for a number of groups. As a member of the Scientific Computing Group at Janelia he is currently using the latest technology to make the HMMER website standards compliant, responsive and user friendly.
