Biography
Nick graduated with his PhD at Wayne State University in Biochemistry and completed his postdoctoral studies at the University of Virginia in Jochen Zimmer’s lab. He is a biochemist with extensive experience characterizing soluble and membrane proteins. During his postdoctoral training, Nick deployed X-ray crystallography, single-particle cryo-EM and other biochemical tools to characterize the molecular mechanism of bacterial polysaccharide ABC transporters. Nick joined Janelia in 2023 and is interested in cryo-EM methodologies to improve visualizing ligand-bound macromolecules.
