Shinya Takemura is heavily involved in the ongoing FlyEM project which aims at building a full connectome of Drosophila brain. FlyEM will ultimately contribute to our understanding of the human brain. He has been generating exciting data and results of these works have been published in leading peer-reviewed professional journals. These findings have the potential to fill in the gap of our knowledge in this field and will unequivocally answer the most important questions regarding neural information processing.
